Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco

Eight of the selected artworks in this year’s art curriculum are from the collections of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Two of the selected artworks (The Flower Carrier and Frieda and Diego Rivera) are from the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Teams interested in visiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art should reference the museum’s website for information and assistance in planning a museum visit. Teams may also be interested in visiting the special Frida Kahlo exhibit, which will be at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from June 16–September 28, 2008. Organized in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth, the Frida Kahlo exhibition presents over forty of the artist’s most important self-portraits, still lifes, and portraits from the beginning of her career in 1926 until her death in 1954. The exhibition includes loans from over thirty private and institutional collections in the United States, Mexico, France, and Japan.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Two of the selected artworks (Shawl and Valley of Oaxaca) are from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Teams interested in visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art should reference the museum's website for information and assistance in planning a museum visit. Teams should be aware that neither of the two works from the Philadelphia Museum of Art were on view in the museum’s galleries as of April 2008.

Brooklyn Museum

One of the selected artworks—Don Juan Joachín Gutiérrez Altamirano y Velasco—is from the Brooklyn Museum. As of April 2008, this work was not on view at the museum. Denver Art Museum

One of the selected artworks—From Spaniard and Black, Mulatto—is from the Denver Art Museum. As of April 2008, this work was not on view at the museum.
